I shopped around quite a bit. There are tons of super cheap water beads out there and maybe they are all similar in quality. I don't really know. I've only ever bought these ones. However, I did see people complaining about other products about how they would either be too squishy and break easy, or the other products would smell weird, or stuff like that. I got a recommendation from a 3rd party review site that these ones were better so I got them. They are great. I always use distilled water and I've never had any issue with the beads smelling weird and the kids seem to have a ton of fun with them.

I'm in loveeeeee. These things are my children's favorite! These are really fantastic water beads and a great value. I followed the directions and did 1 Tablespoon of beads per 1 gallon of water and I was truly amazed at how much they expanded (I included a pic of what they look like dry vs expanded) My 17 month old is fascinated by them, they are non- toxic but I waited until I was sure he wasn’t going to try to put them in his mouth before I introduced them. We’ve use them with cups, spoons and bowls from the kitchen and I’ve also put small plastic animals in with the beads for play. I’ve also seen people use these in shaving cream or freezing them in ice blocks and putting them in water. It’s really is a very open- ended activity and offers a unique sensory experience.

My daughter loves the water beads. We had ordered from someone else a few weeks prior and within one night they were mooshy and gross and we had to throw them out.
